Forty-nine institutions, in total, participated in the Wabash National Study of Liberal Arts Education. The Center of Inquiry launched the study in the fall of 2006 with 19 institutions. In fall 2007, seven new institutions joined the study and Wabash College entered for a second round of assessments. An additional 26 institutions began the study in fall 2008. Included in this cohort were three returning institutions: Wabash College, Hampshire College, and the University of Rhode Island.
