Joseph Friona is currently at Eastern Gateway Community College. His research interests range from mission and charism identity for Catholic universities to core, GE, and online learning assessments.
Friona became a part of the Teagle Scholar program because of its “stellar” reputation and focus on growth, development, and educating the whole person.
Friona contends that the Teagle Scholar program can benefit colleges and universities in many ways. He believes one of the primary benefits is that TASP creates an opportunity for institutions to become more accountable for student learning and development. Friona has worked with several universities to establish accreditation and general education assessments for the betterment of students.
